We just got the new WCF12 in for review yesterday, and we should have a review out next week.
From looking at the specs and talking to Linksys, the diffs are: 1) it works in type I as well as type II slots. 2) The WCF11 already had amazingly low power consumption for a type II card, but I imagine the type I version will be a bit lower (I will confirm that with Linksys).
3) The stated range is shorter, but as mentioned in our review, the claimed range for the WCF11, while true, meant that your connection falls back to 5 MB then 2 MB if you were more than 150-200 feet from the base station.
4) The antenna cap is smaller- in line with the Socket card, as you mentioned.
