I have two pocket PCs, one is a IPAQ hx2495b, the other is an IPAQ 1945. The 2495 has a sync with my PC, but I cannot establish a sync with the 1940. When connected to my PC the 1940 says it is in "Guest" mode. Can you tell me how to get the 1945 and the PC to set up a sync relationship?

When you first connect the iPAQ 1940, ActiveSync on your PC should ask whether you want to form a partnership (sync) with the device or you can cancel that and it will connect in guest mode. Does ActiveSync do this when you connect the iPAQ?

Hi Lisa, ActiveSync does not ask if I want to establish a partnership with the 1945, but does with the 2795. When I connect the 1945, it tries to sync but fails to transfer the Contacts and the Calendar. It tells me that 433 items failed to transfer. The 2795 syncs just fine. The 1945 was originally synced using ActiveSync 3.7. Do you think this has any bearing on the problem? When I removed ActiveSync from my PC and reinstalled ActiveSync 4.1, the same thing happens, it does a sync with th 2795 but not with the 1945. The ActiveSync 3.7 will not install. Does this help any? Thanks Adrien

Have you tried rebooting the iPAQ 1945 by pressing the stylus into the soft reset hole? I'm hoping the iPAQ just needs a reboot to clear up the problem.
