According to Digitimes, an Asian publication HQ'd in Taipei, that Asus will completely phase out its 8.9-inch Eee PC netbooks in 2009 as it's 10-inch model Eee PCs have become more mainstream specs in the netbook market. There are reports that we will see 11-inch and 12-in netbooks from other companies including HP.
Of Asustek's 2009 Eee PC shipments, 10-inch models will account for 95%, while the other 5% will be 7-inch models for telecom service operators, according to the Digitimes report.
