The word on the Net is that ATT has pulled the Quickfire off their web site and store shelves due to overheating and that Quickfire owners are receiving text messages telling them how to properly plug in the phone to its charger. ATT today posted an important safety message on its support forum and provided a safe charging instruction page for the Quickfire users.
Some AT&T customers have reported that they have been offered other AT&T QWERTY phones, such as the Samsung Propel and the Pantech Matrix, as alternatives to their ailing Quickfire. No word yet if and when the phone will return to AT&T's line up.
