There are quite a few options in terms of wireless connection types- do you want to connect via WiFi, a cellular provider or Earthlink Omnisky for example. Check out this article for info on WiFi: http://www.pdabuyersguide.com/tips/wifi.htm , and this one for other kinds of wireless http://www.pdabuyersguide.com/tips/wireless.htm . And take a look at the smartphone reviews section.

being a new ipaq owner myself, I've released one thing. Its not cheap to go wireless no matter which way you go.
I thought I could of just bought a data cable for my cell phone (telus) but now it looks like I need a sleeve of some sort, or have to subscribe to their service....(even tho my phone already has the net on it)

If you've got one of the more common cell phones in the US, you should be able to buy a cable that connects the sync connector on the bottom of the iPAQ to your cell phone from www.thesupplynet.com.

well I'm in Canada first off (not sure if that matters, sometimes it does )
and the phone I'm looking to upgrade to, you do have the option of buying that data cable...
if I did, would that be the only hardware I would need for the ipaq?

If the cable is for connection to your Pocket PC model, you won't need any additional hardware.
