Both HP and Acer reportedly plan to add notebooks with magnesium-aluminum alloy or aluminum casings this year.
Based on a Apply Daily, a Chinese trade paper, report, HP plans to make 20-30% of its notebook shipment this year magnesium-aluminum alloy models. It's about 10-20% increase from 2008. And Acer plans to follow the trend and add 5% more aluminum notebook shipments by the end of the year.
