You could have a defective unit. My e330 doesn't have the same problem. You should get an exchange.

Hi Billy, I have the same problem with you. My e330 cannot talk to my PC. FYI my PC config is USB chipset Via Tech, Processor AMD K6 2 350.

I'd try downloading the new version of ActiveSync (version 3.7). It's supposed to improve syncing behavior, including with the sometimes stubborn Toshibas. http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc/downloads/activesync37.asp
Also, the USB chipset on AMD processor machines sometimes doesn't like to play nicely with some USB devices. You might consider a USB PCI card for your PC, since these cost less than $50 and can help matters.
