Notebook review: Gateway NV7901u 17 inch notebook
      #36821 - 04/22/10 12:02 PM

Gateway manages to make an affordable laptop with good specs that doesn't look bulky or cheap. In fact the 17" NV series is relatively slim and looks downright slick with design cues taken from Sony Vaio notebooks. The NV series is available with the new Intel Core i3 and i5 CPUs and we take a look at the i5 version with optional ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 dedicated graphics. This turns out to be a pretty good gaming system for well under a thousand dollars. If gaming isn't your thing, you can save bucks and get it with Intel's HD integrated graphics that's plenty good enough for playing DVDs and working with productivity apps. Other goodies include a 500 gig SATA drive, 4 gigs of DDR3 RAM, WiFi, Bluetooth an HDMI port and a DVD burner (Blu-ray is an option too).
