Apple has released version 4.0.2 of iOS for iPhone and iPod touch. The new version fixes multiple security vulnerabilities, including the PDF exploit that has recently received lots of publicity for enabling the "JailbreakMe" on-device jailbreaking hack.
The free update is available now through iTunes.

I don't really see it that way. I'm not interested in jailbreaking at this time, so for me, iOS 4.0.2 is just more secure, and there's no trade-off.

Jailbreaking does have it's advantages....Like home screen backgrounding on 2g itouches.
