Sony Ericsson today officially launched the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, a gaming center Android smartphone that will ship from March around the world, and Verizon Wireless will be the first to introduce the Xperia Play in the US!!!

About games for the Xperia Play:
As the world first PlayStation certified smartphone phone, Xperia Play has the PlayStation like controls. Currently 20 game publishers are backing the Xperia Play including EA Mobile, Gameloft and Glu Mobile. Games confirmed Guitar Hero, Dead Space, Battlefield, Galaxy on Fire, Dungeon Defender and more.
The biggest partner perhaps is the Unity which is not only a 3D gaming engine but also a platform for over 300 developers who will develop games and multimedia content for the Xperia Play
Sony PlayStation games will be ported exclusive for the Xperia Play Android phone.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play runs on 1GHz Scorpion ARMv7 processor, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, has 400MB internal memory with a microSD card slot, a 4" 480 x 854 display, a 5 megapixel camera and stereo speakers. The phone will come in Black and White.
