Asus has earned our Editor's Choice award with their impressive new Windows 7 tablet, the Eee Slate EP121. This 12.1" tablet features a superb 1280 x 800 pixel AFFS display that's both capacitive multi-touch and pen-friendly with an active digitizer. The 2.5 lb. tablet is no slouch for serious work thanks to an Intel Core i5 470UM CPU with 2 or 4 gigs of DDR3 RAM and an SSD drive, yet it runs cool and quiet.
The Eee Slate is for those of you who need to do more than a mobile OS tablet like the iPad or Motorola Xoom allow: it can handle Photoshop, MS Office, Visual Studio, Adobe Flash, Netflix, Hulu and more. Well worth a look if you're a graphic artist! We've reviewed a hoarde of Windows tablets in the past 10 years, and Asus has definitely got it right.
LG, I have had this for a couple of weeks and I absolutely love it. I am not an artist. I have 2 auctions and run a proprietary program for my needs. I have offices at both locations, as well as having a main office in between the 2 locations. As such, I have to be mobile. I also have to be able to be in the yards to do inventory, take pictures, number and list the items and track results on the go. I have tried many types of computers/pda's/anything that I thought could possibly produce the ability to fill my needs. Nothing has given me acceptable results. Until now. I can download my inventory, check it off as I do it, take notes as I am doing it, then go back inside and upload my info, and since I can use handwriting to text, get my info in word. I also can download my photos and edit them so I can send them via FTP to my webmaster to put on my website. At our weekly managers meeting I can give a presentation, take notes and draw designs or show trends as they are presented. I have never had anything that could do all this without needing a flat surface to use, power to plug into, or need external devices to combine the needs of all areas I have the need to use. In short, I would like to thank you for the review, and I would recommend this to any professional that has the need for all of the offerings this machine can give. Thanks, and in case you didn't notice... I absolutely love this thing. Keep up the good work.
