Samsung today announced the Galaxy Fab, a 9.143" Android tablet that fills the gap between the 8.9" and 10.1" Galaxy Tab models. Company executive Kim Titus stated that just a half an inch could make all the difference for some folks. The new Fab has a G-sensor and accelerometer that work in conjunction with Samsung?s new TouchWhirl user interface: when held in portrait mode, the Galaxy Fab runs Android OS 2.5 Jello, and when held in landscape mode it runs Android OS 3.0999 Honeypot.
The Galaxy Fab will have WiFi, and models with 3G, 4G and No-G (not to be confused with Microsoft?s "no-Do") will be available later this year. With Samsung's new "by-the-inch" pricing model, the Tab is expected to sell for $522.
