What's Hot: Incredibly thin and light, nice soft touch, fits perfectly and everything is accessible on the phone.
What's Not: No protection for the top or the bottom of the phone.
Case-mate currently makes three cases for the Samsung Infuse 4G, and two of them are shipping now. These case models include Barely There Case, Tough Case (coming soon) and Pop! Case, one tougher than the previous model, but also adding more bulk as the case provides more protection. The Case-mate Barely There Case for the Samsung Infuse 4G covers the back of the Android smartphone and has a soft touch surface that's not slippery and feels good in hand. The case adds very little bulk and weight to the large phone and it does a good job at preventing your Samsung Infuse 4 from slipping out of your hands. The Samsung Infuse 4G Barely There Case currently comes in black and purple.
If you have ever seen or used a Case-mate Barely There series case, you will know what to expect. The case is made of hard plastic molded to fit the Samsung Infuse 4G perfectly. The molded shell actually feels pretty hard and should be able to protect your phone from the pokes, bumps and bruises in your bag or a backpack pocket. The material also has some flexibility so that it?s quite easy to put it on your Infuse 4G or take it off. The material while soft and smooth is not slippery. And if you own a Samsung Infuse 4G you have noticed the sides of the phone are very slippery and it?s definitely a concern that it might slip out of your hands when you are not fully paying attention to holding it. The Barely There Case solves that problem admirably.
The biggest claim to fame for the Barely There cases is the thin and fit form, and the Samsung Infuse 4G case is no exception. The case wraps around the back of the Samsung Infuse 4G like a glove and latches onto the front edge of the phone, barely. The case feels secure on the phone and to accommodate the bottom curve on the back of the Samsung Infuse 4G, the case has an elegant hump that resembles the look of the Droid X. Nice! The case is very thin and it feels as if it adds nothing to the phone?s bulk or weight; if you can fit the Infuse 4G in that skinny jeans pocket, it will likely fit with the Barely There Case on the phone.
While the Barely There Case for the Samsung Infuse 4G provides a good protection for the back of the Android phone, it leaves the top and the bottom of the phone completely open, save for the corners. The case comes with a nice and thick screen cover and an installation kit for you to put on the screen cover.
Since the case doesn?t cover the top or the bottom of the Samsung Infuse 4G, all the ports, buttons and audio jack are open for easy access. The case does have cutouts on the sides to give you access to the power button and the volume buttons. On the back, the Case-mate Barely There case has a large camera cutout that matches the shape of the phone?s camera installation, but the cutout also keep the camera and flash inset a bit so that when you put the phone down on the table, the case prevents the camera installation from touching the surface, which is a very nice touch. There is a speaker cutout to let the speaker audio through on the back.
The Case-mate Barely There Case for the Samsung Infuse 4G looks classy with a soft touch surface and a perfect molded shape. It barely adds any thickness and weight to the phone, yet the hard plastic shell feels protective and certainly takes the main concern for the Samsung Infuse 4G, the very slippery sides, off the table. The phone is very functional inside of the Barely There Case and should be able to fit just about any docking station or audio accessory thanks to the thin form. The Barely There Case doesn?t however protect the top or the bottom of the phone, though it does protect the corners. The Samsung Infuse 4G owners we?ve shown this case to commented: ?I?d buy one in a heartbeat!?
