HTC Trophy Video Review: Verizon's First Windows 7 Phone
      #40719 - 05/26/11 03:21 PM

Verizon is launching a seriously appealing group of smartphones today, and the HTC Trophy is among them. The Trophy is Verizon's first Windows Phone 7 smartphone, and it's a lovely piece. It has HTC's signature design that reminds us of the first HTC Incredible (red insides and all). It has a soft touch black finish, pleasing curved lines and a 3.8", 800 x 480 capacitive display.

Since Microsoft sets minimum hardware standards, the Windows 7 phones we've seen so far have identical specs, and the HTC Trophy is no exception. It has a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, a 5 megapixel camera, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, a GPS and 3G EV-DO Rev. A. What sets the Tropy apart is its world phone capabilities: it has a co-branded Verizon/Vodafone SIM for roaming overseas on GSM networks.

If you've been waiting to try out Windows Phone 7, the Trophy is definitely worth a look. So far we're loving the excellent build quality, very good voice for calls and that responsive and unique Metro UI. Netflix is icing on the cake.

Here's our HTC Trophy video review. Full review coming next week.
