Motorola XPRT Video Review
      #40855 - 06/18/11 11:51 AM

Want a classy QWERTY-bar Android phone on Sprint? Now you've got it, the Motorola XPRT, the vowel-challenged counterpart to the Motorola Droid Pro launched on Verizon in December of 201. QWERTY bar phones might not be sexy, but this Moto is good looking and well made with a better display than the less expensive Samsung Replenish also on Sprint.

The XPRT is for you messaging and business types, and it has Exchange Activesync for MS Exchange support, and Motorola's usual wide assortment of social networking client integration. My Space, Twitter, Facebook and more-- they're here. So is VPN support. The phone is fast, messaging is quick and the Moto is much smaller than side-slider Android QWERTY phones like the Samsung Epic 4G.

Like the Droid Pro, the Motorola XPRT has 3G EV-DO Rev. A and CDMA for use in the US and GSM with 3G for overseas roaming. Handy for you world travelers. It runs on a 1GHz single core ARM Cortex A8 family CPU with PowerVR SGX 530 graphics, so it's no slouch, even for gaming. But the 3.1" 320 x 480 capacitive touch screen, though very sharp, is a bit small for immersive gaming and web browsing without lots of pinch zooming.

The Motorola XPRT runs Android OS 2.2, Froyo with low key Motoblur enhancements. It has the usual WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 and a GPS. A 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash graces the back, and it has good voice quality and reception. It's a solid, well made phone, but the keyboard doesn't quite capture that BlackBerry magic.

Here's our Motorola XPRT video review:
