What's Hot: Super protective, steady stand, and good price.

What's Not: Adds bulk and weight to the tablet.

Targus Truss series cases usually are thick, sturdy and come with a built-in stand. The Targus Truss Case/Stand for Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 is no exception. The case is super protective and solidly built, and it's easy to use. The Targus Truss case for the Galaxy Tab 7 comes in two color combos: black exterior with blue interior and brown exterior with orange interior.

Design

The Targus Truss Case/Stand for Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 is a portfolio style case that opens like a book. The case has an intelligent design that ensures maximum protection. The tablet sits in a pocket on the right side. The case holds the tablet on the left side with a reinforce holder, which also acts like a stand when you prop up the tablet on its side. The tablet pocket has only two corner leather holders on the right side that hold the Galaxy Tab in place and make it easy to take the case off or put it on. The two corner holders cover just enough of the tablet on the front to hold it securely but leave the front facing camera and the power button on the side exposed. Even though most of the tablet?s top, bottom and right side are exposed, the Galaxy Tab 7 sits in the pocket very securely.

The Targus Truss Case/Stand for Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 has a top-grain leather exterior that?s very scratch resistant. It will certainly protect your tablet from key scratches or other pokes and bumps in a backpack or travel bag. To further protect the tablet, the Targus Truss case adds some serious inserts that are very rigid and the cover won?t bend thanks to the inserts. On the inside, the Targus Truss has a thick layer of padding for the front cover that gives the screen some extra pampering, and the case is lined with microsuede soft lining. The front cover integrates into the back cover, and effectively gives the Galaxy Tab 7 two layers of protection on the back. To help keep the case shut securely, the Targus Truss has a band that combines leather and elastic pieces that tie the front cover to the back.

The Targus Truss Case/Stand for Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 looks classy and sturdy, but it adds some bulk to the tablet and 7.6 oz. weight.

Features

The Targus Truss case is a very functional case thanks to the design. Since most of the buttons and ports live on the right side and on the bottom of the tablet, the case leaves most of them exposed for easy access by design. The only thing that lives on the left side of the tablet is the built-in mic, and the Targus case has an answer for that. The side holder where the tablet sits in has a cutout for the mic hole, so your voice can get through even with the tablet in the case. You should have no trouble using any charge/sync cables and audio headset while the Galaxy Tab 7 is in the case. It?s also very easy to access the front menu touch buttons as nothing is in the way, and the front camera also functions normally while the tablet is in the case.

Like with other Targus Truss cases, the Galaxy Tab 7 case has a built-in stand. The front cover has 3 deep grooves where you can prop the tablet up in three different angles. As mentioned the tablet holder on the left is sturdy, reinforced so that when you sit the tablet on the stand, the holder can hold up the Galaxy Tab securely. The stand is very steady and easy to position. The deep grooves also function perfectly to hold the tablet in place.

Conclusion

The Targus Truss Case/Stand for Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 is a thick and extremely protective case for the tablet. The case offers many details that give you the impression that the designer thought through how you?d use the case and how to protect the tablet to the max. The protective layers are strong, thick and padded; the buttons and ports all have easy access. The stand works nicely and keeps your tablet steady when propped up. If you don?t mind the added bulk and some weight, the Targus Truss can give your tablet some serious protection at a reasonable price.
