The Cygnett Workmate case for the iPhone 5 is a well designed case that provides good protection while keeping the form slim and light. The Workmate combines polycarbonate with silicone material and integrate both into one coherent form that fits the new iPhone 5 like a glove. The two layers of material work each of their magic to protect the phone from scratches, shock and bumps. The Cygnett Workmate case for the iPhone 5 currently comes in Slate Blue and Khaki colors, and they'll be available this week on Oct. 12, 2012.

The Cygnett Workmate Case comes in two layers. You can separate the layers and put the interior silicone layer on your phone first, then put on the polycarbonate exterior shell. Two layers mold together well and keep the form slim. The hard shell protects the back of the iPhone 5 as well as the two vertical sides, providing not only strong protection against nicks, bumps and sharp pokes to the back of the phone but also gives the phone some structural support, the hard shell doesn't cover the corners of the phone. The interior of the silicone layer is lined with raised silicone dots that provide more shock absorbance for the phone. While the soft touch coating on the polycarbonate feels very nice in hand, it also makes the surface more slippery.

The Cygnett Workmate Case for the iPhone 5 is well made and perfectly fitted for the phone. The case is very slim and weighs only 1.2 ounces. The two available colors, Slate Blue and Khaki forest green, fit the image of workmate. The case comes with a heavy-duty film protector that protect the front glass, and it passes drop test from 7 feet high.

The Cygnett Workmate Case for the iPhone 5 is a very functional case. It protects the iPhone 5's buttons and hides them under the silicone cover. Instead of a raised button for the top power button, the Workmate Case has a square sink silicone button. While this helps prevent accidental presses of the power button, it also takes a bit of effort to press it quickly. The side volume buttons are also under the silicone, but these buttons are very easy to use.

The case has cutouts for the silence button, the bottom ports and the rear camera and flash. These cutouts line up with the ports perfectly, and the rear camera/flash cutout works perfectly with the lens and lets the flash fully illuminate. You should have no trouble using headphones and sync cables while the iPhone 5 is in this case. The case also wraps around the sides of the iPhone 5 and covers the front glass so when you put the phone face down the case protects the display.

Slim yet protective, the Cygnett Workmate Case for the iPhone 5 is both good looking and lightweight. The case fits the device perfectly and offers access to all ports and buttons. The case protects the phone from serious scratches and jabs thanks to the hard shell and from shock and drop damage thanks to the dual layer design. The case feels well made with good quality material, and comes in two subtle but nice colors. Two small issues include the surface is a bit slippery and the power button takes a bit of effort to press.
