While we assume that the mighty Lenovo ThinkPad X230t tablet will continue the high end for Lenovo convertible Windows tablets in the Windows 8 transition, the new Lenovo ThinkPad Edge Twist will offer a somewhat more affordable convertible tablet experience. The ThinkPad Twist will run full Windows 8 on Intel third generation CPUs up to Core i7 with Intel HD 4000 graphics and up to 8 gigs of RAM.
The tablet will have a 12.5Ē 1366 x 768 IPS display with a touch sensor (no mention of a digital pen or active digitizer). The display is clad in Gorilla Glass and is 350 nits in brightness (nice).
The ThinkPad Twist will come with your choice of a 320 gig HDD, 500 gig HDD or a 128 gig SSD, and it has Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi, optional WWAN and Bluetooth 4.0. Ports include mini-HDMI, mini DisplayPort, 2 USB 3.0 ports, RJ45 and an SD card slot. It has a 720 webcam and a claimed 7 hours of battery life. The convertible tablet weighs 3.48 pounds.
The starting price is $849, but we donít yet have a ship date.
