ATT and Sprint today announced plans to welcome the customizable Moto X from Motorola. And Motorola announced more carriers in the US will carry the Moto X. Here are the details from all the announcements today:
ATT announced plans to welcome the customizable Moto X from Motorola, as well as the standard Moto X, to its 4G LTE smartphone portfolio. The customizable version of Moto X is the first smartphone designed by you, assembled in the USA and available only at ATT. ATT will offer the 16 GB Moto X for $199.99 and the 32 GB Moto X for $249.99 with a two-year agreement.
Designing your own Moto X is simple. Using an online "studio", you can select:
. Color options for the front and back
. Accent colors for the power key, volume key and camera ring
. Adding your name or short message on the phone
. Unique wallpapers
. Wake-up message
. Memory capacity - 16GB or 32GB
Sprint plans to offer the Moto X smartphone later this summer. Powered by Android 4.2.2, Jellybean, Moto X will provide customers the Sprint Unlimited Guarantee - unlimited talk, text and data while on the Sprint network guaranteed for the life of the line of service.
Moto X will be available for $199.99 (excluding taxes) with a new line or eligible upgrade and two-year service agreement in all Sprint retail channels, including Web (www.sprint.com) and Telesales (1-800-SPRINT1). Exact availability will be shared closer to launch. Customers can get more information and preregister for Moto X from Sprint at www.sprint.com/motox
The Sprint Unlimited Guarantee promises customers unlimited talk (calls to any wireline or mobile phone), text and data while on the Sprint network, for the life of the line of service. This guarantee is available to new and existing customers who sign up for Sprint's new Unlimited, My Way or My All-in plans.
Moto X will be available in the US, Canada and Latin America starting in late August/early September.
In the US, woven black and woven white models will be available at AT&T, Sprint, US Cellular, Verizon Wireless and at national retailers including Best Buy stores with a suggested retail price of $199 with a new two-year agreement. Additionally, it will be available on all carriers, including T-Mobile, at Motorola.com.
