iPhone 5 Case Review: Adopted Iridescent Lens Case for iPhone 5 Review

Editor's Ratings (1-5): 4

What's Hot: Unique surface, easy to use, comes in two variants.

What's Not: Doesn't protect the screen.

The Adopted Iridescent Lens Case for the iPhone 5 is an ultra-thin and light form fitting case. Its uniqueness rests not on the form but in the surface that reflects (literally) the style of the design. Made with polycarbonate shell, the Adopted Iridescent Lens Case is protective of the iPhone 5 against scratches to the back and sides and provides access to buttons and ports. The metallic-like surface comes in two color themes, Midnight blue and Sunburst multi-color (pictured here).

The Adopted Iridescent Lens Case has a see-through plastic shell that's reasonably strong yet has some flexibility so that you can install the case or take it off easily. The shell case is thin and light, not unlike many "barely there" style cases for the iPhone 5. The attraction in design for the Adopted case is indeed its iridescent reflective surface that radiates many shades and colors in the light. The multi-layer coating gives the surface a metallic look and the case is shiny enough to use as a mirror. Though very shiny, the surface of the case is very grippy. The Adopted Iridescent Lens Case covers the back and two vertical sides of the phone as well as the corners, but leaves the front display glass exposed. The case doesn't raise its sides above the display, so when you put the phone face down, the screen on the iPhone 5 will touch the surface.

The Adopted Iridescent Lens Case for iPhone 5 is a very functional case thanks to the thin body and generous cutouts. The case leaves out the top and the bottom of the phone, exposing the power button, the audio port, the speakers and the Lightning port for easy access. The case has a long side cutout for the silence button and the volume buttons, and a large rear cutout for the main camera and flash. The design of the case also enables the iPhone 5 to work with most audio accessories such as speakers, alarm clocks and docking stations while in the case since it adds very little bulk to the phone.

If you need a case that literally catches someone's eyes, the Adopted Iridescent Lens Case can do just that with its metallic-like surface that reflects light. The gradient hues shining from these cases will attract those who have an eye for its beauty and match certain accessories that have similar fashion concept. The case is protective against scratches, nicks and bumps in a bag and the shiny surface is surprisingly grippy. We like the two variants in the collection. Those who worry about the safety of the front glass on their phone will need to seek protection elsewhere.
