Tmbr. Rosewood iPhone 6 Case Review
      #47222 - 10/28/14 03:00 PM

It might be strange to think that someone would want to cover the iPhone 6's metal body with a wooden case. But if the wooden backed Moto X and Moto G's popularity told us anything, it's that our fascination with wood is still deeply ingrained in our aesthetic senses. Tmbr fulfills that fancy with a collection of wood cases including rosewood, walnut, cherry and bamboo. These cases come in either plain wood veneer or with engraved graphics and letters of your own design. The Tmbr wood cases are available for both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.

Design

The Tmbr wood cases use real wood veneer, which is a thin layer of wood, on the back. Since it's real wood, each piece looks different in wood grain and color. The iPhone 6 collection comes in two basic rosewood and walnut models, plus various engraved designs in those two types of wood and in cherry wood. For extra hardwood selection, Tmbr offers bamboo as well. In addition you can make the case with your own design in walnut. The cases without engraving designs come with "tmbr." logo engraving.

Under the Tmbr Rosewood iPhone 6 Case's wood veneer is a flexible polycarbonate casing that provides nice grip on the sides of the slippery phone as well as some shock absorption. The flexibility of the plastic makes it easy to install the case and remove it. There're two styles in the Tmbr cases for the iPhone 6: with the Combo cases the wood veneer covers the entire back of the phone while with the regular cases the veneer covers most of the back. The Tmbr Rosewood iPhone 6 Case can easily protect the iPhone 6 from any scratches, bumps and nicks to the back and sides. The case also covers the edges of the front display and creates a barrier for the front glass when you put the phone face down. The sides of the case are textured to give you a better grip.

Features

The regular Tmbr cases cover the iPhone's buttons with plastic buttons while the Combo cases leave those out with a cutout. The buttons, including the power button and volume buttons, are easy to press on the regular cases under the plastic covers. However, the reverse of the convention when the button covers are smooth and the surrounding is textured might throw you off a bit. On the Tmbr. Rosewood iPhone 6 Case you'll find perfectly aligned cutouts for the silence button, the bottom audio port, Lightning port, speaker and mic, and the rear camera and flash. They give you free access to all ports and functions of the phone.

Conclusion

The Tmbr Rosewood iPhone 6 Case and other Wood cases stand out with its real wood veneer that look truly unique and are long lasting. The case is protective and easy to use. The case is slim and light and works with most screen protectors. Tmbr offers many different designs for the wooden back and you can even make your own design. One additional bonus with wooden cases is that they don't show fingerprints.
