OtterBox iPhone 6 Symmetry Series Case Review
      #47245 - 10/31/14 06:10 PM

In OtterBox's ultra protective case collections, the Symmetry series is the slim and easy to use case that doesn't require any multiple-layer assembly. It also has the most colorful selection among the OtterBox cases with not only choices in solid colors but also graphics. The OtterBox iPhone 6 Symmetry Series Case is very protective for the phone's back and sides, and it comes in nine different colors/graphics.

Design

The OtterBox iPhone 6 Symmetry Series Case is a little different from their Defender Series and Commuter series. It's a one-piece case that fuses a very sturdy and hard polycarbonate shell and a layer of synthetic rubber lining. The hard shell covers the back, sides and corners of the phone, providing protection against scratches, bumps, nicks as well as some structural support. The inner soft lining is kinder to the phone's surface and provides some shock absorption. The lining also wraps around the front edges of the phone, creating a barrier for the display when you put the phone face down.

The case is well made and the materials seem to be high quality and more durable. The design is also clever: the rubber on the edge makes it easy to install and remove the case with no struggling. Eden of flowers or polka dots are usually not associated with OtterBox cases, but with the iPhone 6 Symmetry Series you can get both, plus Black, Glacier, Damson Berry, Teal Rose, Blue Print and Poppy Petal.

Features

The OtterBox iPhone 6 Symmetry Series Case is slim by OtterBox standards and it weighs 1.4 ounces. The case has some thickness so the cutouts for the silence slider, the bottom ports including the Lightning port and the 3.5mm audio jack are a bit larger so that you can reach the controls through the cutouts. The case also has cutouts for the mic, speaker and the rear camera and flash. The cutout for the rear camera and flash has a black rim with all color options to prevent flash reflecting. The OtterBox Symmetry case protects the iPhone 6's buttons with rubber covers, and they're very easy to use under the protection.

Conclusion

There are many OtterBox fans out there, and for those who don't need the ultra rugged protection for their iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, the Symmetry Series gives that sturdy build of an OtterBox case but in a slimmer form and lighter body. The Symmetry also targets users with more colorful tastes than just the basic black and white. The graphics versions cost a bit more than the solid color choices. The case doesn't protect the phone from moister but it provides great protection against scratches, bumps and drop shock. The case doesn't come with any screen protector but it works with OtterBox's own screen proctors and others brands' as well.
