Noreve Apple iPad Air 2 Leather Case Review
      #47598 - 01/21/15 07:24 PM

Noreve offers several case designs for the iPad Air 2 and all the case models come in high quality leather and in dozens of texture and color options. These leather cases include pouch styles and portfolio styles, and since Noreve calls every model "leather case", we'll use their internal model number to indicate the case we're reviewing here. This iPad Air 2 leather case is modeled after Noreve's Tradition 9108T which is a portfolio case with a built-in stand. As with other Noreve leather cases, the iPad Air 2 leather case comes in fourteen different surface textures and many colors in each texture selection. The one we look at here is from Noreve's Ambition collection in Ivoire color.

Design

If you've been following us, you should already know that Noreve makes high quality cases with meticulous craftsmanship. The iPad Air 2 leather case is no exception. The Ivoire case is built like fortress around the entire tablet and the cover is heavily padded to protect the display. The leather fabric is hand selected high quality material and it's conditioned to show that particular texture and pattern you ordered. The texture options includes anything from the normal nappa Perpetuelle series to the wildly shiny Illumination series to the heavily textures Horizon series. Each texture selection comes in a dozen or so colors that range from black, white and gray to eye-catching orange, maroon and even metallic looking colors in high gloss selections. Nice thing about all these options is that Noreve offers custom fabric so that you can personalize your case to fit the personality of the case user.

The iPad Air 2 leather case in Tradition 9108T is not only a stunning looking case but it also protects the tablet with its sturdy shell and thick padding for the front glass. The tablet shell is custom fit for the iPad Air 2 and it's very easy to install the case and to take it off. The Tradition 9108T design is a little different from the Tradition 9106T for the previous iPad Air: the new case has two lips that hold the tablet on the right side which makes it more secure when you put the tablet in landscape mode in the built-in stand. The hard shell and the front cover can easily protect the tablet from scratches, bumps, nicks and even some shock damage should you drop the tablet while it's protected by the case.

Features

Noreve updated the case design to custom fit the iPad Air 2 and to position the cutouts for the new port and button locations. The long bottom cutout leaves the speakers and the Lightning port open for easy access. The side cutout is in the perfect size for you to operate the volume buttons. A small sound hole opens on the side for the mic. Top cutouts give you easy access to the Power button and the audio jack. You should have no trouble using any 3.5mm headphones with the tablet in this case. The rear cutout gives the camera and rear mic enough space to function fully.

On the inside of the front cover, you'll find three grooves indented into the padding. You can take the left side of the tablet out of the case and position the tablet in landscape orientation and prop it up in one of the three grooves for viewing media or making Facetime video calls. All three angles are relatively upright, and the flattest angle is about 45 degrees. The grooves could be a little firmer as the tablet tends to slide out of the most outer groove. The front cover also has auto wake and sleep support.

Conclusion

The Noreve Apple iPad Air 2 leather case continues the company's tradition of making high quality cases with excellent workmanship and material. With dozens of texture options and so many colors, you can certainly find something that speaks to you. Be aware that some models, like the Nappa Black (Perpetuelle Noir), are readily available; and others that are rarer models will take 14 days to custom make and will cost you more as well. Though the case is a bit heavier at 9 ounces, we like the sturdiness and strong protection it offers and the built-in stand comes in very hand when you watch movies, video chat and web browsing. Noreve ships internationally.
