RAVPower Savior 9000mAh External Battery Pack Review
      #47625 - 01/27/15 08:24 PM

In RAVPower's expansive battery pack collections, the Savior 9000mAh External Battery Pack comes in two flavors, one with a built-in Lightning charging cable and one with a built-in micro USB charging cable. Both options have a full sized USB charging port and a built-in AC wall plug. We look at the RAVPower Savior 9000mAh External Battery Pack with built-in Apple Lightning Connector for this review. The nimble 4.49" x 2.76" x 1.1" battery pack has enough power to charge the iPhone 6 multiple times and even fill up an iPad Air 2.

Design

The RAVPower Savior 9000mAh External Battery Pack is very compact for the power it carries. It has soft touch surface that feels nice and is scratch resistant. The battery pack weighs 8.8 ounces. The battery pack is designed to be as self efficient as possible with a built in Lightning charging cable that works with iPhone and iPad models with Lightning port and an AC wall plug so you needn't bring an extra cable to recharge the battery pack. The Savior also has a USB power output port and yes, you can charge two devices at the same time. The RAVPower Savior has only one control button on the front along with a thin strip of LED lights that indicate power level. You can use the button to turn on or off charging, and to check the battery level.

Features

The RAVPower Savior 9000mAh External Battery Pack is a powerful battery that can charge two smartphones simultaneously. The two power output ports on the battery aren't created equal however. The Lightning output has 2.4A and the USB output has 1A output power. The 33.3Wh battery has maximum 3.4A output. The 9000mAh power offers at least 4 full charging cycles for the iPhone 6 and at least one full charging cycle for the iPad Air 2. And thanks to the 2.4A Lightning connector, it charges the iPhone 6 quite fast: less than 1:45 hours. It takes quite a few hours to charge the iPad Air 2 though. The 1A USB port can charge Android smartphones, digital cameras, ebook readers, Bluetooth headsets and even smaller tablets like the 8.4" Dell Venue 8 7000 tablet.

The RAVPower Savior 9000mAh External Battery Pack features iSmart technology which matches your device's maximum charging current to ensure fast charging. The battery uses A+ grade cell with up to 1K recharge cycle and no memory effect. The battery also has built-in safety protection.

Conclusion

The RAVPower Savior 9000mAh External Battery Pack is a road warrior's friend thanks to its plug-and-charge design. You don't need to bring a USB cable to recharge the battery pack and you don't need to even bring your phone's or tablet's cable to charge your device. It has enough power for an overseas flight and it can charge two devices simultaneous. The battery is available in two flavors to satisfy both iOS and Android camps. It comes in high quality cell and has smart power management that turns off when device's battery is full and provides fast charging when possible.
