Ventev Toughglass Colorframe Protector for iPhone 6 Review
      #47732 - 02/20/15 08:18 PM

Most screen protectors are clear and that's usually the way we like them. Ventev offers both clear film and clear glass protectors for smartphones and tablets, however, the Toughglass Colorframe will convince you that protector looks better in color frames. The Ventev Toughglass Colorframe offers very durable glass protection for your iPhone 6's front plate and it's easy to install and take off. It comes in three color frames: Gold, Light Gray and White.

Design

If you're skeptical when you hear "color frame" for your glass screen protector, trust me, you're not alone. But the opulent color, like the Gold on our gold iPhone 6, doesn't make the frame look cheap or pretentious. It gives the gold iPhone a "goldilocks" look that completes it and enhances it. Both the Light Gray and White frames look equally rich and modern. The Toughglass Colorframe has a perfect fit for the iPhone 6's front glass and the color frame indeed frames the display perfectly as well. The glass protector is rated at 9H hardness and it can protect your iPhone from scratches, nicks and pokes by sharp objects like knives or keys, and the shatter-resistant glass also can absorb some shock should you drop something on top of the iPhone's front glass.

Features

The Toughglass Colorframe is easy to install. The package comes with a cleaning pad, a microfiber cloth, and the glass screen comes on a glass plate which you can use as a storage plate when you're not using the protector. You can install the protector by dropping it on top of your phone's screen, and it's relatively bubble free, though you need to work out some smeared areas, especially on the edges of the screen. The protector is reusable though you must make sure that the adhesive side of the protector doesn't get dusty. The Toughglass Colorframe has excellent clarity and responseness to touch. You don't have to use your phone's touchscreen any differently from how you use it without the protector. The protector has cutouts for the Home button, the earpiece and sensors as well as the front camera.

Conclusion

The Toughglass Colorframe screen protector will woo you into thinking "how could I ever used a frameless protector?" The tempered glass is thinner than the Moshi iVisor but it can certainly protect the phone from daily use and abuse. The smooth edges fit with the phone's screen perfectly and it worked with most cases we tried it with. The glass screen is easy to install and it's super responsive for the touchscreen. It did leave some small smeared areas under the glass even after we cleaned our phone's screen and pressed out the bubbles.
