Booqpad for iPad Air 2 Case Review
      #47744 - 02/24/15 09:08 PM

Booq offers several models of cases for the iPad Air, the iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini. The Booqpad for iPad Air 2 has trimmed down the folding closure from the iPad Air's version but kept the versatility of the original design. The Booqpad for iPad Air 2 Case features a removable tablet shell that's easily connected to the folio case via magnets, a paper notepad and a built-in stand. The Booqpad for iPad Air 2 Case is protective of the tablet and has a modern and clean look. The Booqpad for iPad Air 2 Case currently comes in gray.

The Booqpad for iPad Air 2 is a subtle yet attractive case. The faux leather case uses premium PU material for the exterior and nubuck lining on the interior. The swede-like finish gives the case a classy and modern look, and the small tab closure is cleaner than the large wrap-around closure found on the last generation of the Booqpad. The small metal "booq" logo adds an interesting visual decoration on the otherwise clean looking case. The tablet sits in a form fitting polycarbonate shell that's slim and light. On the back of the shell case you'll see four strips of magnet that connect the shell to the folio's back cover. The shell case does a pretty good job at positioning it in the right alignment automatically, so that you don't have to fiddle with it to line the shell up with the back cover. The shell also rises slightly higher above the screen on the front, so when you close the folio case, the pad of paper doesn't touch the iPad Air 2's display.

For those tablet users who also like to use a pen to write, draw or design, the Booqpad for iPad Air 2 Case offers something extra: a 50-sheet blank paper notepad that's made with unbleached and acid-free paper. The case is slightly larger than the tablet's shell and the paper notepad to accommodate the thickness of both. The case doesn't have a penholder.

In addition to the paper notepad, the Booqpad for iPad Air 2 Case also offers a built-in stand. The back of the folio cover is ridged so that you can tilt the tablet in landscape mode in many viewing angles. The built-in stand relies on the weight of the tablet to keep steady and it works reasonably well. The hard plastic shell has generous cutouts on the bottom, the side and the top to give you easy access to all ports, buttons and mics. The rear cutout is not as generous but as long as the shell and the back cover is lined up correctly, the cutout should give the rear camera enough room to take good photos and video.

The Booqpad for iPad Air 2 Case is the perfect solution for tablet users who still want to write, take notes and draw with a pen. The folio is slim and light for what's included, and the ability of separating the tablet and leave the notepad and folio case behind is appealing. The case is very versatile and offers features of comfort such as a built-in stand and easy access to all ports and buttons. The case currently comes in only in gray that looks rather clean and professional.
