Proporta Ted Baker iPad Air 2 Folding Magnetic Cover Winches Review
      #47952 - 04/17/15 06:06 PM

Proporta is offering the new Ted Baker Spring and Summer 2015 Collection of cases for smartphones and tablets. We've looked at the Ted Baker iPhone 6 Case Alli for women and the Ted Baker iPhone 6 Case KRIS for men. Now we look at the WINCHES iPad Air and iPad Air 2 Folding Magnetic Cover. The Winches is a plastic front cover for the iPad Air 2 that protects the screen from scrapes, scratches and bumps; and it's also a built-in stand.

Design

The designs of the Ted Baker Spring and Summer 2015 Collection clearly separate the items into two groups, one for men and one for women. The Winches cover is distinctively designed for women. The cascading floral print on black background gives the case a unique look compared to the solid colors in Apple's own magnetic cover collection, and the Ted Baker logo is elegantly embossed on the lower right corner. The Winches has sufficient inserts that are thick enough to protect the screen but not so thick that add too much bulk and weight. The magnetic cover weighs only 4 ounces. Like Apple's cover, the Winches is made with plastic but has that anilines-dyed leather feel. The interior of the Winches is lined with soft pink microfiber that won't scratch the display glass. The cover is slightly larger than the iPad Air 2.

Features

As it works with most magnetic covers, the Winches attaches to the iPad Air 2 via a thin strip of magnet. The magnet isn't very strong and the cover can come off when you try to work the cover into a stand. The origami style cover has different patterns from the Apple cover and it can position the iPad Air 2 in three viewing angles for media viewing, typing on the keyboard and reading, browsing and FaceTime chatting. The cover is easy to use as a built-in stand and it also supports the iPad's auto wake and sleep feature.

Conclusion

The Ted Baker iPad Air 2 Folding Magnetic Cover is an eye-catching cover that looks beautiful and adds very little bulk and weight to the slim tablet. The built-in stand offers three viewing positions and the cover is easy to attach and take off. The magnet auto wakes and sleeps the tablet and the interior of the case is soft. We wish the magnet that attaches the case to the tablet were a little stronger and since the cover carries Ted Baker brand with special prints, it's a bit more expensive than Apple's Smart Cover.
