STM Dux for iPhone 6 Case Review
      #48236 - 06/30/15 06:07 PM

STM offers a wide variety of cases for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, including wallet cases, armbands and shell cases. The STM Dux for iPhone 6 is a rugged yet slim shell case. It features a clear polycarbonate back and a rubberized bumper. It protects the iPhone from scratches and bumps on the back and sides, and it can absorb drop shock as well. The STM Dux for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus comes in either red or black.

Design

The STM Dux for iPhone 6 case has a simple design. The shell case has a sturdy polycarbonate back that can protect your phone from sharp objects in your purse or bag. Fingernails, keys or metal pen tips don't leave marks on the back panel even when they scratch against it directly, and the shell is strong enough to withstand some bumping and bruising in your gear bag or travel bag. The clear back is good for letting your iPhone's color show through or for adding some photos, stickers or name tags that can show through the clear shell. The sides of the case has rubberized and textured bumper that provides good grip and some flexibility for installing and taking off the case easily. The Dux has extra thickness on the corners for added protection against drop shock. There's also a charm holder on one of the bottom corners.

Features

The STM Dux for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is a very functional case. It has a perfectly framed cutout for the silence button, and the three cutouts on the bottom also are custom-made for the speaker, the Lightning port and the audio jack and mic. Though the case adds some depth for the access to these bottom ports, you should have no trouble using charging cables and headphones. The depth to the Lightning port shouldn't prevent you from using alarm clocks, docking stations and speakers as long as the connectors on these accessories allow a little bit of extra space and height. The Dux has a very generous cutout for the rear camera/flash/mic cluster. Nothing should get in the way of taking pictures or videos, and the flash has more than enough room to fully illuminate.

The Dux covers the side buttons to give them some extra protection from wear and tear, as they're the most used moving parts on the phone. The case elevates the button covers to make it easier for you to use the buttons. The case reaches slightly higher than the phone's display, creating a barrier for the glass when you put the phone face down. And since the front edges of the case don't clutch at the front display of the phone, the Dux works with all screen protector even the thick glass protectors.

Conclusion

Simple yet protective, the STM Dux for iPhone 6 Case is a great shell case that can let your phone's color show through the clear back. It's strong enough to protect the phone against scratches, bumps, nicks and even some drop damage. The case is slim and light and it loos good in either the black or the red bumper. It's easy to use and works with most accessories. As many shell cases on the market, the Dux leaves you to worry about the protection of the front glass.
