X-Doria Revel for iPhone 6/6s Case Review
      #49105 - 02/10/16 07:59 PM

There're many iPhone cases that offer eye-catching graphics and some even let you design your own graphics, but the X-Doria Revel for iPhone 6/6s Case still manages to wow case veterans with its bold graphics and protective design. Co-molded with a hard plastic shell, rubber bumpers and reinforced corners, the X-Doria Revel protects the iPhone from bumps, scratches and even drop shock. But what makes the case unique is the six carefully designed cover graphics that stand out from the crowd. These designs include Blue Marble, Owl, Palm, Zebra, Floral Palm and Hipster Deer.

The X-Doria Revel case is both good looking and protective. It's currently only available for the iPhone 6/6s size, not the Plus models. The case has rigid back cover that comes halfway around the sides. It protects the phone's back from scratches, nicks and bumps; and it also provides structural protection should you drop your phone. Molded together with the hard plastic cover are the rubber bumpers that provide a better grip for the phone and make it easy to install the case and take it off. To add more drop shock protection, the X-Doria Revel has four extra corner bumpers that can absorb some impact force. The hard shell is thick enough to provide good protection but it's slim enough to avoid add too much bulk to the slim phone. The case wraps around the phone and rises just a bit above the front glass, creating a barrier between the display and flat surface when you put the phone face down.

The rubber bumpers also cover the phone's control buttons including the power button and the volume buttons. These buttons are easy to use under the cover. The case has generous cutouts for the silence slider and the rear camera cluster; and it has separate cutouts for the bottom ports. The cutout for the Lightning port is a bit tight and Lightning cables with short plugs might not connect through the case's cutout. The cutout for the audio jack is large enough for most 3.5mm audio plugs.

Among the six graphics on the X-Doria Revel case, only the Blue Marble is opaque enough to cover the iPhone's color. All the other five designs are clear or semi-clear; and the iPhone's back shows through the case. The Palm, Floral Palm and Hipster Deer designs can work well with all iPhone colors, but the Apple logo might fight with the Zebra and Owl designs a little bit. Perhaps these designs would look better with an opaque background.

Conclusion

If you're bored with your shell case and looking for something that's eye-catching, the X-Doria Revel case will not disappoint. But more importantly, the Revel is well designed to protect as well as to wow you with its graphics. The case can certainly protect your iPhone from daily scrapes or bumps and even some drop shock damage thanks to the reinforced corners and bumpers. The case is slim and light, and it's super easy to use.
