HEX Vintage Teal Leather Icon Wallet Case for iPhone 6s Review
      #49281 - 03/30/16 06:24 PM

HEX makes the Icon Wallet Case in several textures and colors including the Moroccan Red Leather, Black Leather, Brown Woven Leather, Stingray Leather and more. The Vintage Teal Leather option has a distinct weathered leather look with Southwestern flair in teal. The case holds the iPhone 6s as well as credit cards, ID cards and cash. It works with the iPhone 6 as well.

The Vintage Teal Leather Icon Wallet case has a portfolio style design with a black plastic phone holder on the right side and black leather interior wallet slots on the left. The teal exterior is made with genuine leather that feels sturdy and the case has strong stitching. The wallet inserts also add some extra protection for the phone screen when the case is closed. To keep the case shut, the Icon Wallet offers an elastic band that ties the front cover to the phone holder securely. When the case is closed, it provides protection for the entire phone from scratches, nicks, bumps and some drop damage. In our tests, we actually dropped our iPhone 6s at about 3 feet high while the case was open. The drop damaged the plastic phone holder but didn't scratch or damage the phone.

The Vintage Teal Leather Icon Wallet is a functional case thanks to the cutouts that give you access to all buttons and ports on the iPhone 6s. The case has generous cutouts for the side buttons on the iPhone 6s as well as the bottom ports and the rear camera cluster. You should have no trouble using the phone including making phone calls, connecting to charging cables and headphones, and taking photos and videos while keeping your iPhone 6s in the Icon Wallet case.

The Vintage Teal Leather Icon Wallet case can also take some of your essentials like an ID card, two credit cards and some cash for your trips to the gym or the corner store. The wallet case offers three card slots (non has see-through window), and a side slot for cash. The case offers some extra room for you to stuff the wallet, but if you use all the card slots and several bills in the cash slot, the case will need that elastic band to keep shut.

Conclusion

The Vintage Teal Leather Icon Wallet case is relative slim compared to other wallet cases we've seen, and its leather cover is durable. The teal vintage look is distinctive and the case offers the convenience of a slim wallet. As we experienced, the case protects the iPhone 6s from daily scrapes, scuffs and even some drop damage. And as we've shown you here, the plastic phone holder is thin and delicate, and it'll break when you drop the phone. As mentioned before, if teal isn't your color, HEX offers the Icon Wallet case in a variety of leather textures and colors.
