It's a great card, but I don't know if it's the best. For folks running older OS versions or HPCs, then it's one of the few choices since Socket has drivers for these, while many other cards don't. It's also a low-power type I card, and Jornadas can only use type I cards.
When there weren't many CF WiFi cards available for PDAs, let alone type I low power cards, there wasn't much competition, so Socket could charge a higher price. Now that there is competition (at least for folks running Pocket PC 2002 or 2003 OS), it might be time for Socket to lower their prices. Their recent $40 rebate was a step in this direction, so you can generally get the card for $99 after rebate through the end of this year. Here's the link to the rebate: http://www.socketcom.com/wmwep/WLAN27112.pdf
Quote: If so, why is it the best card? Why is it more expensive than others?
