Tungsten T is more expensive because it's got the new ARM compatible processor and the new Palm OS 5 among other things. Read our review for more details:
If you don't care for those features, check out color units such as Palm m515 and m130 as well as the Sony Clie SJ30, all of which we have reviewed on this site as well.
Color units are easier on your eyes and yes, they do help the UI. There are calendar apps that have some very fancy features you can check out.
