It took a few weeks, but Apple has finally released an iTunes 8.0.1 update for iTunes 8 for Mac OS X and Windows. Apple says fixes in the update include the following:
Seamlessly plays the current song when creating a new Genius playlist.
Improves syncing spoken menus to iPod nano.
Improves accessibility with Windows.
Addresses problems syncing Genius results to iPod.
Addresses a blue screen error on Windows Vista when connecting iPod to your computer.
Even more importantly, iTunes 8.0.1 finally fixes the heinously annoying bug in which HD TV shows purchased from the iTunes Store could sometimes get deleted during the download process. It also addresses the frustratingly annoying bug in which the floating playback window didn't actually float, as well as the respectfully annoying issue of "phantom App Store updates."
