Slingbox - Anyone ever use one?

Looking for pros vs. cons with the Slingbox contraption. I use an xv6900 from Verizon / HTC and was wondering if this is a smart buy? If it boggs down the cellular device? How it works exactly? If the picture on the device is clear, and not bogged down or delayed by buffering etc...?
