Motorola Launches the MC55 Enterprise PDAs
      03/10/09 01:48 PM

Motorola Enterprise Mobility has launched the MC55, the newest in its family of enterprise digital assistants (EDAs). The MC55 is the smallest, lightest device with a 3.5 inch screen. Here is more detailed info plus specs:

Two models maximize investment

Understanding that one size does not fit all, the MC55 provides customers with a flexible mobile computing solution, providing 2 separate models (and multiple configurations) to meet the specific needs of enterprise workers:

- MC5590: Wireless WAN (WLAN) and Bluetooth connectivity for indoor workers (e.g healthcare, retail, hospitality associates)

- MC5574: Wireless WAN (WWAN), Wireless LAN (WLAN) and Bluetooth connectivity for workers who spend time both inside and outside the four walls (field service, maintenance personnel, police officers, postal and delivery workers)

Offering 2 separate models allows organizations to reduce the overall cost of a mobility solution. Enterprises have the flexibility to purchase the right feature set for different types of workers instead of all features for all workers.

The size-optimized device contains all of the features that Motorola?s customers have come to depend on to maximize the efficiency of their mobile workforces, both inside and outside the four walls of a work environment. The robust business class device:

- Supports the GSM/GPRS/EDGE standards for wireless communication
- Offers access to voice and data service
- Includes integrated GPS, cell phone, 1D and 2D barcode scanner, high-res camera, pager, two-way radio and mobile computer in one easy to manage device

The sleek, consumer-styled device sports a unique and patent-pending monocoque housing which helps to deliver the ruggedization that is expected from Motorola Enterprise Mobility products, ensuring reliable operation in spite of the inevitable drops, bumps and exposure to the elements.

The enterprise class device is ideal for a variety of industries including:
