Barnes and Noble intros self-publishing service

Barnes and Noble today announced PubIt!, a self-publishing platform for writers and independent publishers. BN claims it's an easy to use and potentially lucrative platform for eBook publication with DRM (no idea if they allow you to sell books minus DRM).

You can visit their site now and sign up for an invite, and the service will be available this summer http://www.barnesandnoble.com/pubit/ .

Amazon already offers their own Digital Text self-publishing service so this is a good competitive move on B&N's part.
