CES 2011: Hands on with the Hanvon TouchPad B10 10" Windows 7 Tablet
      01/09/11 03:49 PM

Sometimes small overseas manufacturers surprise you with a really sharp looking product. Hanvon, who we know mostly for their E-Ink ebook readers, also makes tablets and the TouchPad B10 is a Windows 7 tablet with a capacitive 10" display. For those who need a stylus, they do also make a resistive screen version.

The Hanvon TouchPad B10 runs on an Intel SU series ultra-low voltage CPU (Celeron family) with 2 gigs of RAM and a 250 gig hard drive. The industrial design is beautiful and the slim tablet looks and feels like a quality piece. The capacitive multi-touch display is sharp and clear, and despite Windows 7's lack of optimization for small screen sizes and touch, we found it fairly easy to use even smaller elements like menus.

The tablet has two USB ports, 3.5mm audio jacks, VGA, HDMI, Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11b/g (no n). The display resolution is the same as 10" netbooks: 1024 x 600. It weighs 2 pounds.

Hanvon is a Chinese company with US distribution and you can visit them at www.hanvon.com. The B10 sells for $899.

Here's our video of the Hanvon TouchPad B10:
