Samsung had one heck of a hit with the original Galaxy S line, so we expected a strong follow-up and got it. The Samsung Galaxy S II has a 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus 800 x 480 display and is only 0.33" thin. It weighs 4.09 ounces and packs a 1GHz Samsung dual core CPU. It runs Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread with TouchWiz 4.0. That new version of TouchWiz features 4 Hubs: Reader Hub, Music Hub, Games Hub and Social Hub.
The Galaxy S II has an 8 megapixel rear main camera that can shoot 1080p video. The smartphone will be available as soon as this month (though we doubt that means in the US).
The Galaxy S II GT-I9100 has quadband (850/900/1900/2100MHz) HSPA+ 4G 21Mbps, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi 802.11b/g/n and a GPS. It's powered by a 1650mAh Lithium Ion battery. There's a gyroscope for gaming and Samsung promises titles from Gameloft along with the addictive We Rule and We City social games.
