iPhone Game Review: Tiny Wings
Reviewed by Epox

Andreas Illiger, has just made his first app ever and it turns out to be a hit. Tiny Wings has crisp graphics, fun gameplay and easy controls. With endless re-playability and ever changing worlds this is a perfect game for iOS.

Gameplay

The story behind this game is a little bird who always dreamed of flying, but alas he could not. But, he lives in a hilly island where he can ride the slopes. The controls are simple, tapping once on the screen will allow your bird to turn into a projectile and he pick up speed when speeding down hills or lose speed going up hills. If you get your bird to turn into a projectile at just the right moment you can make him momentarily soar into the sky.

The timing required for Tiny Wings needs to be just perfect, so that you maintain your rhythm, and after some time you will just get used to the tapping and it will become a beautiful experience. When you do three slides down a hill consecutively, you unlock a fever mode where you jump even higher. There are coins and speed boosts along the way to help maximize your high-score. There?re also certain in-game tasks that you have to complete; these tasks will earn you multipliers for your points. These multipliers will stick with your bird forever, unless you reset the game.

There are different island which you can jump to, and each island will be different and will get more challenging as time progresses. Your bird can only travel during the daytime, so on the bottom left corner you will find what time it is. Once nightfall has approached, the game ends. There are Openfeint leaderboards and achievements with Game Center support coming soon.

Graphics

The graphics are beautiful and look amazing. The islands change during every single run and every single day. So every time you see an island is a different experience. The game does indeed have a neat watercolor painting feel to it and combining the graphics with a cute story makes it a charming game that?s fun to look at.

Sound

Tiny Wings has a unique and calming soundtrack that allows you to be at peace while you soar with you bird. The music fits the gameplay and graphics nicely to form a perfect harmony. You can also listen to your iPod music, but only if you start up your iPod music then start the game.

Conclusion

Tiny Wings is an incredibly fun and addictive game, that has all the right elements of a hit title. With perfect and simple controls, beautiful graphics, and ever-changing worlds Tiny Wings should be in your pick-up-and-play genre games.
