With rings flying all over the screen, hectic action, and impressive graphics MindTrip Studios delivers Ring Blade. Ring Blade is a lot of fun, challenging and has great controls. Within a few minutes, Ring Blade becomes impossible to put down and a pleasure to play.
In Ring Blade, your objective is to simply use one finger to move the launcher on the bottom and than use that same finger to flick rings across the screen. These rings can bounce of walls and practically go anywhere if you just use some trigonometry. If you wait some time, you are allowed to flick a super ring blade which basically lasts longer and is more powerful when facing enemies.
There are plenty of power-ups like health, 5X blades, shield blades, and invincibility. They each have their own unique special ability and can be gotten by simply throwing a ring at them when they pop up in the screen. There are a bunch of different enemies, and they get stronger and stronger as you advance to the next level. You earn point by flicking rings at the enemy and killing them; as the enemies get stronger you will need more than just one rings to kill them. Bouncing rings of the wall will earn you extra points and can be helpful when facing masses of enemies.
There are 30 levels for each arena and there are epic bosses that will challenge you on the way. One thing that would be nice is a survival mode in each arena where you keep fighting hordes of enemies till you die. There is also Open-Feint leader-boards that will allow you to challenge your friends as you compete for the high-score.
Graphics and Sound
The graphics are great and are exciting and fit well with the overall tone of the game. The graphics are buzzing and all over the screen and is full of non-stop action and violence. There are a bunch of arenas in the game and each has a unique style of graphics and they are fun to unlock. The graphics do not support retina display, but the developer says it will come in future updates. This style of graphics work well with an iOS device and with retina display it will be impressive.
