What's Hot: Slim, light and very functional.

What's Not: Surface shows scratches.

Cygnett is a prolific iDevice accessory maker, and has recently released three new cases for the iPhone 4S release including the FlexiGel case, SecondSkin II silicone case and Ripple plastic case. We look at the FlexiGel case for this review. The Cygnett FlexiGel for iPhone 4S is a form fitting TPU case that comes in three colors as well as a front film protector. The case is easy to use and cleanable with soap and water.

The The Cygnett FlexiGel case for iPhone 4/4S fits the phone perfectly. The treated TPU plastic is flexible which makes it easy to put it on or take it off of your iPhone. And unlike many silicone cases, TPU material keeps its shape much longer so that your case doesn't fall off of your phone with a few months' use. The material is also a bit thicker and more rigid than silicone, making it better for protecting your iPhone 4/4S from pokes, bumps and scratches made by keys and other objects in your purse or bag. The material is shinier also, and it looks great in all 3 available colors: black, purple and magenta. Though the case looks shiny, it doesn't feel very slippery in hand. The only imperfection we noticed with the Cygnett FlexiGel case was the exterior surface showed scratches and dings. It's great to see that the case protects your iPhone 4S from being scratched, however the case shows the wear and tear with the scratches and pokey marks left behind from daily use. Even light fingernail scratches leave marks that won't heal after a time.

The Cygnett FlexiGel case for iPhone 4S comes with a nice protective film that covers the front of the iPhone 4S and an installation kit to help you put it on. The case is slim and light, and weighs only 0.6 oz. We tested it with several audio systems, the iPhone 4S fitted in all of them while in the FlexiGel case.

The Cygnett FlexiGel case for iPhone 4S is a perfectly functional case with all the necessary cutouts for ports and buttons. We like that the case covers all four sides of the iPhone 4S and makes cuts where they are needed. The case has only one cutout on top for the audio out jack and top mic, as the Power button is under the plastic cover with a raised button that's easy to press. There are three cutouts on the bottom of the case for the 30-pin connector, bottom mic and speaker on the iPhone 4S. They line up perfectly with the ports. On the side, the Cygnett FlexiGel case has a cutout for the silence button that fits both iPhone 4 versions on AT&T and Verizon. The volume buttons each has a cutout that's perfectly aligned. And finally on the back, the case has a generous cutout for the rear camera and enough space for the flash to fully illuminate in the case on.

The Cygnett FlexiGel case wraps around the sides of the iPhone 4S and covers the edges of the front display glass. It creates nice resting edges for the screen if you put the phone face down on a flat surface like a table. The

The Cygnett FlexiGel case is slim, light and functional. It's easy to use and easy to clean. The case is thick enough to be protective against regular wear and tear from daily use, and provides some shock absorption should you drop the phone while in the case. It's shiny yet not slippery, and all cutouts fit perfectly. The only thing mars it is the back shows scratches and dings easily.
