Once again Sony has seriously impressed us and sent us into fits of techno-lust with the Vaio Z ultraportable notebook. This is the third generation Z for 2012 with full mobile Intel Ivy Bridge 15 and i7 CPUs. We review the quad core i7 model and it's simply impossibly fast for a 2.5 lb. notebook. It runs circles around Ultrabooks, as it should given the $1,599 starting price.
This is a road warrior's laptop if you need big notebook processing speed in something that slips into a briefcase. It has 8 gigs of RAM, an SSD drive, dual band WiFi, WiDi and Bluetooth 4.0. If you have the money and want a very light and powerful notebook, check out the Sony Vaio Z.
