Deep Voyage is a Collapse type of game with over 200 levels filled with power-ups and obstacles. Even though the game is very long, the levels are very well designed and varied enough that you don't feel the gameplay repetitive. Graphics are good and music intriguing enough to keep you going. The game offers well-mannered challenges with matching power-ups that gives you a smooth gameplay and pleasant experience.
Deep Voyage HD uses ocean floor as background for the Collapse style gameplay. There are whopping 200 plus levels, and you unlock each by beating the previous level. We like the levels designs: they are varied in shapes, game pieces, obstacles and difficulty levels to keep the gameplay fresh and enticing. Since there're so many levels, the game takes its time to build up the obstacles and introduce you to power-ups. The power-ups also show creativity in design including missiles flying in any directions including diagonally.
In addition to the power-up pieces on the game board, you can also purchase 8 additional power-ups with the coins you collect during the game. These additional power-ups take time to accumulate but they help you greatly at beating the best finishing times. As you gain levels you'll also gain points that you need to restore three undersea gardens for the beautiful mermaid. The game has very smooth controls and easy-to-understand UI.
Graphics & Sound
Deep Voyage HD has nice graphics. The game board tiles aren't the best graphic pieces we've seen in Collapse or Match-3 games, but the animations for the power-ups and effects are eye-catching. Using the sea floor as background is a great idea, and the game kept the background tranquil enough to help the player but not distracting. The tiles are easy to see and the UI is easy to use.
Deep Voyage has nice sound track to accompany your very long gameplay. Sound effects are plentiful and they fit the actions/animations appropriately. Everything has an underwater tone to it, fitting the setting of the game. The game offers volume control for both BGM and the sound FX.
If you like Collapse game with long and challenging gameplay, Deep Voyage HD is definitely worth a look. It has well designed levels, adequately placed obstacles and nice power-ups that keep the gameplay interesting and fresh. The game has comparable graphics and audio package that make it a complete pleasant experience on a long journey to restore the undersea gardens.
