Thank you Lisa.
It seems that I have a penchant for older things (goes with the age I guess).
I wonder if the Galaxy Tab 7 Plus, even older, is a better tablet than the Tab 2 7.0, providing I can get a very good price on it (it has 16 GB). Do these 2 has USB host ?
I tried the Tab 2 and the Iconia A100 and I did like the latter better because I find it quite snapy.
I would not like the Nexus for the reason that it does not have the SD card slot.
