MicroMat has released a new update for Protogo, its product that allows you to convert an iPod or other storage device into a bootable "Protege"-style drive for diagnosing and correcting problems with your Mac's hard drive or other hardware components.
Version 1.0.3 includes several enhancements, including the ability for a "Protogized" iPod to remain operable as an iPod (which I had previously criticized in my review of an earlier version). The update also adds new localizations and the ability to run applications directly from the Protogo DVD.
The update is free for current owners of Protogo. New customers can purchase Protogo for $135. For more information or to download the update, please visit the official site.
