There's no denying the huge amount of hype and anticipation surrounding the upcoming release of Apple's high-tech iPhone, but the one thing that's been missing is a definitive release date. Well iPhone fans can wonder no more as Apple has just announced that the iPhone will begin shipping on June 29, 2007.
There are two versions of the iPhone: A $499 4GB model and a $599 8GB model. These both will come with a two-year contract from Cingular Wireless. Apple still hasn't released much information in the way of service plans, but with a hard release date now set, it shouldn't be too long before more details start rolling out.
