Sega has announced that the classic game Sonic the Hedgehog, originally for Genesis, is now available for the iPhone and iPod touch via the App Store.
Relive your favorite memories of the Genesis era as you rocket Sonic through hair-raising loop-de-loops and dizzying dives as you gather up Rings and stop Dr. Eggman's schemes for world domination!
Dr. Eggman has turned all of the animals into mechanical monsters, and it's up to the legendary hedgehog to save them. Blast through seven zones including the Green Hill and Labyrinth zones, as well as Special Stages in an attempt to free the animals and recover the Chaos Emeralds!
Sonic the Hedgehog is available now on the App Store for $5.99.
Editor's note: Although I think this is cool, I have already paid for versions of Sonic 1 for my Playstation 3, PSP, and iPod nano, and I don't think I can bring myself to buy it a fourth time.
