If your budgets or even your pockets are tight, check out the LG Optimus T. This T-Mobile phone is currently the cheapest Android smartphone on the US market. Despite the budget price, it's a surprisingly decent phone with a sharp 320 x 480 capacitive multi-touch display, 3G HSDPA, 600MHz CPU and vanilla Android OS 2.2 Froyo. It has the usual WiFi, Bluetooth and a GPS that works with Google Maps and Navigation as well as Telenav. There's a 3.2MP shooter with an autofocus lens and a soft touch finish that feels good in hand.
The phone loses a few buttons in the price-cutting effort, and Sprint's slightly more expensive $49.99 LG Optimus S has camera and voice command buttons as well as an external microSD card slot. But we give the edge to the Optimus T since it runs unfettered Android while the Optimus S is slowed down by Sprint ID software.
