Nokia has launched a new wireless syncing app called Nokia Drop that allows you to sync file from your PC to your Nokia phone via wireless data network. Here is more info:
Nokia Drop was built using Qt and offers quick transferring of items on the Web to your phone without the need of using cables or bluetooth. Handy if you're away from your home PC or if you can't find the cables. Nokia Drop also utilises the Nokia Notification solution so your phone isn?t sitting there eating up battery power or your data plan, the app is only active when you?re being sent something.
There are two parts to this app, the app for your phone and a plug-in for your browser, which currently supports Chrome and Firefox. Installing the browser extension is the first step in the process and will leave you with the Nokia Drop icon at the top of your screen. The next step is to install mobile client onto your device, which will then sit there waiting for something to be transferred. When you?re browsing on the Internet, you can right click on a picture and select the Nokia Drop option, followed by Send image or Send as wallpaper which will open up the app on your phone. If you selected the latter option, whichever homescreen you were on at the time would now have the new wallpaper. If you select just to send the image, it will sit in your photo gallery for use at a later time.
You may find a website you want to visit later on when you?re away from your computer, just move your pointer over a URL and right click, selecting Nokia Drop, Send link. It will sit in the app on your phone ready for you to click it.
