iPhone Game Review: Robot 99 Reviewed by ninjackid
Get ready to save some robots from imminent death in Robot 99!
Robot 99 is an endless arcade game, but one that's rather unique in it approach. The games entire premise is to save the robots who are falling from the top of the screen , and are heading for the conveyor belt on the bottom of the screen. Your job is to make sure none of the robots collide with each other on their way down, or hit the conveyor belt without you touching them, and get destroyed.
To do this, you merely tap a robot to open its parachute and slow the descent, or drag the robot to the conveyor belt by tapping and holding and dragging a robot safely to the bottom. Every robot you save earns you points, and you can also earn bonus points by dragging and holding robots in the "POWERIZONA" area before letting them go.
The game also has a nice multi-touch feature, which allows your friends to help you out on the same device.
Robot 99 starts out with only one background and level, but as you earn points you unlock additional levels.
Graphics & Sound
The graphics for Robot 99 have an extremely cartoony look and feel to them, and really fit the games quirky, relaxed theme.
The sound and music are also done well with gears whirring and a good soundtrack to keep things going.
It's actually pretty rare to see an original idea turned into a fun, easy to play game, that's actually well polished. Robot 99 falls into that category. It has a great, simple feel to it. Check it out if you're looking for a unique casual game!
